Abstract: For centuries, male domination over women has been regarded as a norm in many parts of the world. This has led to different forms of discrimination and exclusion of women as active participants of society. They are often portrayed as voiceless, vulnerable and are in most cases given passive roles which always keep them inferior to men. For this reason, Nawal El Saadawi exposes how patriarchy in the form of male dominance over women manifests in society by adopting the story of a female victim.
