FOREST PROTECTION IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIAL FORESTRY IN LORE LINDU NATIONAL PARK

ABSTRACT

Social Forestry is a sustainable forest management system implemented in state forest areas or rights forests/customary forests implemented by local communities or customary law communities as the main actors to improve their welfare, environmental balance, and socio-cultural dynamics. The formulation of the problem of this study is: What is the role of the community in the implementation of forest management in Lore Lindu National Park.? What is the authority of the Regional Government in the implementation of Social Forestry in improving forest protection in Lore Lindu National Park? The purpose of a study is to direct the goals that are intended or to be achieved in research. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to be achieved, namely: to analyze the role of indigenous peoples in the implementation of forest management in Lore Lindu National Park and the role of local governments in the implementation of Social Forestry in improving forest protection in Lore Lindu National Park. The implementation of Social Forestry Management for the Community in Lore Lindu National Park is carried out by issuing forest management approval with a scheme based on applicable regulations, and the community is given a period of 35 years to manage the forest area after the issuance of a Decree by the Minister. The authority of the Regional Government in the implementation of Social Forestry in improving forest protection in Lore Lindu National Park by the Forestry Service of Central Sulawesi Province is to guide on strengthening institutional capacity, area governance, and business development.  provide benefits and encourage the improvement of community resources and economy, Supervision is carried out by the Minister through the Director General, and evaluation activities are carried out to see if the management approval holder has fulfilled the fulfillment of rights, fulfillment of obligations, compliance with prohibitions and Social Forestry Management activities.
